Two-goal Porter is the match-winner for Ashton Boys B against Frampton Rangers
To their credit, both sides endeavoured to play attacking football and there were plenty of chances created.
Frampton got the game under way in a howling wind and appeared to have the initiative as they adjusted to the conditions more quickly than the visitors.
The home side piled on the pressure in the opening five minutes and it paid off with a goal. John Barlow skipped past his marker before playing the ball out right to Marcus Purnell, who turned it into the box for George Hasking to slide home.
Ashton quickly responded, Porter racing down the wing and laying the ball inside for Chivers to run on to, but his shot was straight at goalkeeper Jake Waterman.
Ashton threatened again when Chivers found the ball at his feet on the edge of the Frampton box, but Waterman dashed out to make a fantastic save.
The visitors' pressure was rewarded with an equaliser on 15 minutes. Porter found Matt Davenport, who swung in a great cross from the left for Chivers to head home.
Ashton could have taken the lead shortly afterwards when Porter released Chivers, but his shot was slightly mishit, making it easy for Waterman to collect.
Frampton almost retook the lead when a great through pass by skipper Barlow left Hasking with only the keeper to beat, but Mason Gill-Watkins came charging out and the attacker could only find the side-netting.
At the other end, Liam Leonard clipped the ball across to Porter, who let it bounce before hitting a fierce shot on the turn which was well gathered by Waterman.
Frampton came close when a vicious corner from Kieran Clark picked out Sam Bracey, whose powerful header was just wide of the target.
Ashton kicked off the second half with the ferocious wind behind them, but it was Frampton who had the first decent chance following a well-worked move. Purnell picked the ball up in midfield before playing a one-two and sliding it out wide to Sam Hall, but he sliced his shot off target.
Then Porter had another opportunity for the visitors as the ball was flicked into his path, but he put his volley wide.
Ashton finally took the lead when Waterman's throw found Porter, who took one touch before spectacularly lobbing the helpless keeper from 30 yards.
Soon afterwards, it was 3-1 as a long goal-kick from Gill-Watkins was carried by the wind and took one bounce over the Frampton defence. Chivers latched on to it and hit his volley first time past Waterman.
As the half progressed, Frampton increasingly struggled to keep possession playing into the wind, while Ashton began to assert themselves more, creating good chances in quick succession for Porter, Chivers and Joe Templar.
Frampton had an opportunity to pull a goal back when the ball fell to Purnell on the edge of the Ashton box, but he could not keep his effort down.
Ashton almost grabbed a fourth goal when Charlie Hedges played the ball through to Chivers, who initially was forced away from goal by Bracey before he knocked the ball back for Templar to fire just wide.
Frampton went back on the offensive as Liam Comley flicked the ball over the top for Hasking, whose attempt sailed over the crossbar.
A further chance came their way when Barlow picked up a loose goal- kick. He passed the ball to Sam Bailey, who laid it across to Hasking, but his shot was well saved by Gill-Watkins.
