Hot-shot Jake hits a hat-trick to put Rovers in seventh heaven
Jake Jackson opened the scoring, shooting inside the near post with everyone expecting a cross, and Davaughn Martin set up Jackson for his second on 20 minutes.
A Billy Bond corner found Joe Durrant, who rose well to head Rovers into a 3-0 lead at the break.
It was not long before Jackson claimed a terrific hat-trick and Ben Cush struck to make it 5-0. Martin capped a fine display with a super strike 10 minutes from time and Dom Haugh-Stewart claimed Rovers' seventh with a fine individual effort.
Rovers keeper Lewis George had very little to do but pulled off a great save in the dying seconds.
Rockleaze Rangers had to survive a strong second-half fightback from a revitalised DRG Stapleton B team before recording a 3-2 victory to maintain their 100 per cent winning record at the top of Under-16 Division III.
Rockleaze dominated the first half, with George Harris making a series of strong runs from the left to link well with dangerous forwards Jordan Lindo and Ricky Wilson, and midfield colleagues Jonny Bradbeer and man-of-the-match Tom Ashford.
A precise through ball from Harris set up Lindo to give Rangers the lead within three minutes of the kick-off. Chris McGill added the second with his first touch of the ball before his cross was glanced in by Harris to give Rockleaze a 3-0 half-time advantage, which would have been greater but for a fine display by Stapleton keeper Sean Sibanda.
Both Lindo and Wilson went close to extending the lead early in the second half. However, the home side asserted themselves strongly as the period progressed. Skipper Alister West took advantage of a mistake in the Rockleaze defence to pull a goal back and they went on to create other good chances before West headed home their second from a corner late on.
Bitton continued their impressive start to the season with an outstanding 5-2 victory over Avon Athletic in Under-14 Division I.
Jacob Hicks opened the scoring for Avon but Bitton soon levelled, Jake Garnett crossing for Jack Rhys-Jones to finish well into the top corner, and they took the lead when the tireless Ryan Mitchell found Garnett, who beat his man and finished with a fierce shot.
Avon rallied and Hicks equalised with a curling free-kick. But Bitton were far from finished and responded with two goals in four minutes.
A Jack Rhys-Jones' throw found Harry Bradford, who swivelled and fired home, then Luca Porcaro made it 4-2 with a powerful header from a Mitchell corner.
Five minutes into the second half, Bitton struck their fifth when Bradford clipped the ball over the Avon defence into the path of Rhys-Jones, who beat a defender before lifting it over the keeper.
Avon continued to fight to the end and were denied a third goal by Spencer Dawes, who pulled off several fine saves, and the Bitton back four of Dan Palomeque, Jack Boughton, Dan Morton and Liam Henderson.
Southmead CS hit top form in front of goal to tank Bradley Stoke Youth 7-1 in Division IV.
Goals from Marcus Thatcher, Ryan Connelly and Reece Evans gave Southmead a 3-0 half-time lead, helped by strong performances at the back from Louis Rogers and Jack Darling. Connelly struck three times in the second period and Evans added another to complete an emphatic win. Bradley Stoke scored a late penalty to give themselves a little cheer.
An off-key Shirehampton Colts were thumped 7-0 at home by Bishport United in the same division.
Despite having the majority of the play in the first half, they trailed 2-0 at the break before conceding five second-half goals.
AEK Boco overcame wet and windy conditions to produce some flowing football and a 7-1 victory over a depleted Henbury side in Under-13 Division II.
Boco took an early lead with a long-range Luke Nash effort and some slick football led to further goals for Adam Shovelton, Harry Rawcliffe and Umar Usman, while an unfortunate own goal gave the hosts a 5-0 half-time lead.
Shovelton doubled his tally in the second half before Darnell Smart scored his first goal for the club.
Henbury scored a late consolation goal through Callum Fitzgerald.
● Yate United Under-10s produced their best performance of the season to defeat King's Stanley 5-1 and reach the last eight of the Mid-Glos Cup.
Jack Banks volleyed them ahead in the opening minutes and Sam Bidder (2), Tom Bidder and Jake Alden were also on target, while Joe May made some super stops.
