Winterbourne bowlers rout Chipping Sodbury
Mayes' impressive figures came from three overs as he and team-mate Dan Vickery (4-18 from four overs) tore through the Sodbury batting line-up.
Sodbury were reduced to 42 all out before Winterbourne reached their target for the loss of three wickets.
Chipping Sodbury were also on the end of some brutal batting from Stapleton, who reached 188-4 thanks to 93 from Callum Wallis, 40 from Callum Sharpe and 32 from Harry Cordy. Sodbury managed 99-6 in reply to lose by 89 runs.
Joe Brimble hit 106 not out as Bedminster compiled 185-2 against Stoke Bishop in Section D. Stoke Bishop's reply was restricted to 105-4 as Bedminster won by 80 runs.
Junaid Shah took 3-2 from his three overs as Bristol YMCA B beat Whitchurch by 101 runs in Section F. Callum Murphy's 71 not out had earlier helped Bristol YMCA to 161-3.
In Section A, Will Christoff's 65 not out helped Chipping Sodbury B to a 26-run win over Coalpit Heath A.
Ben Hargett's 57 steered Downend A to a three-wicket victory over Winterbourne B in Section B, while Matt Downes' 50 helped Frenchay to an eight-wicket success against Pucklechurch, for whom J Stevenson's 58 proved in vain.
In Section E, Ollie Haynes cracked 52 not out for Knowle as they beat Bishopston B by five wickets.
Del Ford took 3-4 from 16 balls as Bristol West Indians dominated Whitchurch B in Section D of the Under-13 League.
Ford's heroics helped reduced Whitchurch to 43 all out after Duval Pierre (79) and Nathan Hall (50) had contributed to the West Indians' 175-2.
Elsewhere in Section D, Adam Canning hit 38 not out as Bitton reached 63-0 to beat Frenchay Green (62 all out) by 10 wickets.
In Section E, Prevan Rajh's 77 not out saw Stoke Bishop B ease to a nine-wicket win over Bishopston A, while Joe Cook's 49 helped Bishopston A defeat Bristol YMCA by 11 runs.
Patrick Anderson's 71 not out could not prevent Bedminster crashing to an eight-wicket defeat against Long Ashton A.
Stapleton's Ollie Sharpe took 4-11 as his side (56-1) beat Shirehampton (51 all out) by nine wickets in Section D of the Under-17 League.
In Section B, Hambrook suffered a two-wicket defeat against Frenchay despite 47 from Alex Dyer.
Bristol cruised to a 10-wicket victory over Lodway in Section E and are due to face Bedminster tomorrow evening in a play-off as they are tied at the top of their section. The sides clash again on Friday in the semi-final of the South West Glass Under-17 Knockout Cup.
Almondsbury reached the final of the Don Brooks Under-17 Plate – the first time they have reached a final at any age group – after beating Coalpit Heath.
Almondsbury posted 111-3 thanks to 30-plus scores from Tom Harris, Nathan Curnock and Jack Kewley, before Michael Perham's 4-16 and Angus Ritchie's 2-15 helped restrict Coalpit Heath to 75 all out.
Coalpit Heath's Chris Maggs posted the highest individual batting score of the match, though, with 37.
Thornbury's Harry Wormwell took 3-2 from 16 balls as his side beat Almondsbury by 109 runs in Section A of the Under-11 League.
Thornbury reached 155-2, with Wormwell retiring not out on 25, before limiting their opponents to 46 all out. Also among the wickets were Alan England (2-9) and Josh Lintern (2-5).
Chipping Sodbury A's Aaron Beale took 3-11 as his side beat Rockhampton by 59 runs, while Coalpit Heath eased to a 71-run victory in their derby clash with Frampton Cotterell.
Bitton's T Withers claimed figures of 3-13 in a 53-run victory over Carsons/Mangotsfield in Section C, but his team were unable to make it two wins from two matches as they lost by six wickets to Pak Bristolians, for whom Bilal hit 26 not out.
