Level pegging in Bristol derby between Paulton Rovers and Yate Town

Tuesday, October 20, 2009, 07:00

Missed chances cost Paulton Rovers two points as they drew 1-1 with Yate Town.

Indeed, had Rob Claridge not cleared off the line from Joe White in the last minute then Yate would have claimed victory themselves.

Town took a 25th-minute lead when Mark Reynolds rose unchallenged to head a corner past goalkeeper Kyle Phillips.

Paulton equalised just before half-time when Chris Lane's effort from the right lobbed over Adam Growcott and in off the far post.

Meanwhile, Yate's reward for winning their FA Trophy first qualifying round tie against Bedford Town on Saturday is another home draw, this time against Hungerford Town, who knocked out Taunton.

Yate manager Dave Mogg said: "I am happy with a home draw against a side who play in the same division as us. It gives us a good chance of going through to the next round."
