Sam Downs was the toast of Bishop Sutton as he completed his double with an 80th-minute winner for the Somerset side, who came from behind to beat Brislington 4-3 in the quarter-finals of the Fry Club Cup at Somerdale.

Lee Perks gave Brislinton an early lead, Mike Purnell equalised for Bishop Sutton, but Jack Crar and Kevin Rawlings made it 3-1 to Brislington at the break.

Bishop Sutton levelled the scores at 3-3 through a Mike Rimmer penalty and Downs, who then netted the winner from close range.

Yate Town will provide the opposition in tomorrow's semi-final, after winning 5-1 against Totterdown, for whom Lewis Roberts netted a late consolation.

Justin Cattle opened Yate's account with a penalty then went on to complete his hat-trick before Scott Wooder and Gary Simmonds added further goals.

Louis Rudge, Richard Griffiths and John Berry all bagged trebles during the 11-1 romp by St Aldhelms against Talbot Knowle in the Brunel Shield quarter-finals, while Nicholas Wanderers won 3-0 on penalties after scoring through Scott Oakley and Darren Clemence in a 2-2 draw with Cutters Friday.

Tonight's semi-finals - Fry Cup: Lebeq v Henbury. Brunel Shield: Longwell Green v Broad Plain.

● Bitton, who were 2-1 winners over Oldland Abbotonians at the weekend, completed a quick double over them in a hastily arranged friendly last night.

They won 5-1 with goals from Craig Mullen (2), Danny Hallett, Richard Perry and Billy Hodge. Ryan Bernard scored for Oldland.
