10-man Yate earn a draw against Andover
Striker Mark Reynolds was red-carded for an alleged punch which referee Adam Nunn was the only person to see.
"I certainly saw nothing and Mark was as mystified as everyone else, but the official was adamant and would not listen to anyone," Yate manager Dave Mogg said.
Tom Melledew created the opening for Andover to take the lead in the 24th minute, when he broke down the right and his cross found the unmarked Sean Cook, who headed past Yate goalkeeper Adam Growcutt.
The home side equalised on the stroke of half-time when a free-kick from Zayne Simpson created the opening for Reynolds to make up for an earlier miss with a good header which gave the keeper no chance.
Early in the second half, Jacob Cox had a free-kick deflected for a corner, and then Yate came close to winning the match when a Cox cross was knocked down by Joe White to skipper Edd Vahid, whose shot found the net – only for the goal to be ruled out for offside.
Then came Reynolds' controversial dismissal after 67 minutes, which left Yate to hold out for the final 23 minutes of the game to take a deserved point from a side who failed to press home their numerical advantage.
