Weston-super-Mare 1 Bishops Stortford 3: Weston slipped into the bottom three of the Blue Square South table following their latest defeat by sixth-placed Bishop's Stortford.

The home side included new signing Ben Cleverley, from Tiverton Town, and he had a solid game in midfield, but Weston were missing skipper Adi Harris, who was serving a one-match suspension.

Weston made a bright start in a scoreless first half, with Ben Joyce forcing a smart save from goalkeeper Nicky Eyre. Scott Bartlett, captain in the absence of Harris, then forced a corner, and a Jack Compton free-kick was turned behind for another corner as Weston pressured.

As Bishops came into the game, Weston's Dave Gilroy cleared off his line from Glen Southam. Charlie Sheringham then had an effort beaten away by Weston goalkeeper Kevin Sawyer, while Sawyer knocked Lewis Smith's goalbound effort on to his crossbar.

Weston broke the deadlock on 52 minutes when Gilroy was put clear by Mike Green's through pass and he beat Eyre from 10 yards. But the visitors were level five minutes later, when Sheringham got on the end of an Ashley Nicholls pass, and Nicholls then put the visitors in front on 70 minutes with an overhead kick as Weston failed to clear a corner.

Weston substitute Josh Klein- Davies had a goal disallowed late on and, as Weston pressed for an equaliser, Hassan Sulaiman broke away to seal Bishops' first win in three games.
