Swindon's greyhounds setback

Swindon were forced to abandon Monday's greyhounds meeting at Abbey Stadium, so the Blue Square Arc second round heats will again have to be rescheduled.

"We've had to call off because of waterlogging, it's really bad," said official Jo Clarke. "The track was looking good at 6am, not frozen, no snow and drying well after a breezy night, but then the heavy rain came and we couldn't get plant on to get a surface.

"It was also causing problems for trainers, both local and from afar, in terms of travelling to the track."

The Arc final will now be February 19 at Swindon, live on Sky Sports. The second round will take place on Wednesday night's Bags fixture, with the semis on Saturday evening.
