Students at the Sir Bernard Lovell School in Oldland Common have been given an insight into life at university.
Seventy youngsters aged 13 and 14 attended an Aimhigher roadshow, run by the Department of Innovation, Universities and Skills to promote the benefits and dispel the myths of higher education.
They visited the hi-tech roadshow bus for an interactive session with a recent graduate. After watching a DVD, the school students used hand-held voting pads to answer questions and give their opinions.
The roadshow is aimed at young people in areas and communities with traditionally low levels of participation in higher education.
SBL associate head Ruth Bennett said: "We identified students with university potential, some of whom were not yet considering higher education."
