Red card blows Chippenham's hopes against Bashley
Pratt's tackle on Chris Knowles from the kick off saw one of the quickest-ever dismissals in football history.
The injustice galvanized Chippenham who took the game to their lowly visitors. Sam Allison proved provider and Scott Lye volleyed home on 10 minutes.
The Bluebirds almost increased their lead as Luke Gullick fluffed his shot and saw another saved by Bashley keeper David Elm's legs. The home keeper then kept out a Ross Adams effort.
At the other end Chris Snoddy did well to turn away Dave Allen's effort. The second half saw Bashley change to a more attacking formation and it paid dividends in the opening minute.
Dave Allen's strong run down the left saw his low cross tapped into the net by James Rowe.
As the 10 men began to tire ex-Chippenham player Charlie Knight made them pay on 54 minutes as he fired home after good work by Chris Ferrett.
Gullick should have rescued a point for Chippenham but after Elm pushed out Alison's shot he blazed wide of the goal.
Bashley fashioned two late chances, Knight volleying off target before being denied by Snoddy as they recorded their first-ever league double over the Bluebirds.
