Frome Town's Jones keeps score down against VTFC

Frome Town's tough introduction to life in the Southern League continued as they were beaten 3-0 by a very good VTFC side, who deservedly moved two points clear at the top of the table.

The difference would have been much greater but for a superb performance from debutant goalkeeper Daffyd Jones, who pulled off a string of fine saves.

Jones saved a first-half penalty, but was unable to prevent Byron Mason giving VTFC a 54th-minute lead.

Warren Hunt headed the home side's second goal 10 minutes later and Kevin Gibbens rounded things off with a third 10 minutes after that.
