Clifton denied maximum points by late Canterbury equaliser

Hockey Round-Up: A last-minute equaliser by Canterbury denied Clifton all three points in their latest Slazenger EHA Premier Division match.

Clifton took an early lead through Carys Hopkins, pictured, and scored a second in the 52nd minute through Dawn Mitchell.

The 2-1 lead looked to have gained Clifton all three points but the home side drew level in the last minute to snatch a draw.

Clifton have a tough game on Saturday when they face unbeaten leaders Bowden Hightown at Coombe Dingle (1pm).

Firebrands Ladies continue to impress in National Conference West, winning 3-1 against Exe Ladies.

Georgie Field continued her recent run of goals by scoring twice, while Kate Smith scored the third on her return from injury.

Firebrands are at home to Aldridge at Failand on Saturday (12.30).

The Firebrands men's team are on a poor run and they lost 5-2 to University of Birmingham.

Tim Lang scored both home goals to bring his team into contention at 3-2, but the side were unable to score any further goals, although Ed Miller hit the post with one effort.

Martin Palmer and Dominic Harris scored for the 6ths in a 2-2 draw with Yate.
