Paranormal service has come to an end

Friday, April 03, 2009, 08:00

Regrettably, today sees my final Mysterious West page and podcast. The time has come for me to move on to new realms.

Very much in tune with the zeitgeist, the page was launched in October 2004 to cover the "New Age" phenomenon synonymous with mystical Glastonbury, and respond to the increasing public interest in the paranormal.

With its title inspired by the best-selling 1980 book Mysterious World by the late Arthur C Clarke, who was born in Somerset, the page, with its mix of esoteric news and comment, has been unique in the mainstream media.

In February 2007, Mysterious West expanded into a weekly podcast on the Western Daily Press website and, for 21 months, it ran as a weekly 60-minute programme on Glastonbury Radio, the online station, making it a truly interactive, international experience.

Through Mysterious West, I have encountered a host of special people around the world with alternative approaches to life and who are part of a growing movement tuning in to the great changes that lie ahead for our world.

It's appropriate, then, that I should sign off – as I began four and a half years ago – with the 2012 prophecy.
