An all-new top of the Range Rover
The New 2010 Range Rover Sport and Discovery 4, which have been comprehensively revised to deliver greater levels of power, refinement and economy, are available to test drive now – following their debut at the New York International Auto Show in April.
Dealer principal Peter Kingwell said: "These new models have just arrived and offer local drivers the chance to be among the first to drive them on UK roads.
"A test drive is the only way for customers to appreciate the step- change in quality, refinement and performance that these new vehicles deliver.
"I can confidently predict that getting the keys back after each test drive will be a challenge, so we are asking local drivers that are interested in experiencing them first-hand to contact us and arrange an appointment."
Once behind the wheel, drivers will be able to appreciate the highly efficient and refined new twin-turbo 3.0-litre LR-TDV6 diesel engine (available on both models). At 600Nm, the torque output is thought to be the highest of any six- cylinder passenger car diesel in the world – delivering 29 per cent more power and 36 per cent more torque than the already impressive 2.7-litre TDV6 diesel (which remains an option when ordering the Discovery GS model) but returning about 30mpg (combined cycle) and a nine per cent improvement in fuel economy and CO2 emissions.
An all-new 5.0-litre supercharged LR-V8 petrol engine also joins the new 3.0-litre LR-TDV6 diesel engine and existing 3.6-litre TDV8 available on Range Rover Sport. It also delivers impressive power and torque improvements – producing 29 per cent more power and 12 per cent more torque than the outgoing 4.2-litre supercharged V8 petrol engine, yet improving CO2 emissions and fuel consumption by 5.6 per cent and 6.2 per cent respectively.
Cabin interiors on both vehicles have also been comprehensively restyled from the ground up, incorporating new facias, doors, seats, consoles, instruments and switchgears. In addition, both cars are also now fitted with five-inch Thin Film Transistor (TFT) screens that display essential driver information – such as fluid levels, transmission information and Terrain ResponseTM settings – via graphical displays.
