I'm born and bred – can't think of anywhere nicer to live.
How do you relax?
Not a lot of relaxing at the moment, but when I get the chance, spending quality time with my family.
When and where are you happiest?
Christmas and relaxing with my family.
What's your earliest memory?
Playing in a sandpit at my grandparents when I was four – first steps as property developer building sand castles!
What makes you laugh?
I love watching programmes like Just for laughs.
What do you dream of?
Too often business.
What is your greatest fear?
Rats.
Who do you admire, living or dead, and why?
Richard Branson – never afraid to take a risk what ever the outcome.
What is your worst habit?
Repeating myself.
What possession could you not live without?
I hate to admit it but my mobile phone
What is your greatest frustration?
Indecisiveness.
What is your favourite book?
Anything by Tom Sharpe.
What is your favourite word?
Yes.
What would you choose to eat and drink at your last meal?
Toad in the hole with a chocolate milkshake.
What or who is the love of your life?
My children, Dan and Zoe, and my partner.
What law would you introduce if you were in charge?
One that allows common sense to rule day-to-day decisions. Everyday life is so much more stressful because of unnecessary rules.
Who would you invite to your dream dinner party?
Madonna.
What single thing would improve your life?
More time.
What is your greatest achievement?
After my children, acquiring the Swan hotel in my home town of Wells.
What talent do you wish you had?
I have always wanted to play the piano.
How would you like to be remembered?
As someone never frightened to take on a challenge.
