Slipknot fans get closer to new album

The Grammy-winning metal band has chosen the site to exclusively preview 90-second clips of every track from All Hope Is Gone from Sunday until the album's full release on Sunday August 25.
Gideon Lask, HMV's E-Commerce Director, said: "The fact that Slipknot have decided to give getcloser.com the exclusive of their new album highlights the importance of specialist music sites to both the industry and consumers. Securing an exclusive from a world-famous band such as Slipknot is a huge achievement for getcloser.com - particularly in it's first month of open beta launch.
"We have been working hard with labels for many months on securing exclusive content for the site and there is much to be explored on the site. getcloser.com provides a new and different way for users to get even closer to the artists, music and films they love.
"We fully expect this to be the beginning of a new trend of bands turning away from such sites as MySpace and using ground-breaking sites like getcloser.com to reach their fans."
Getcloser.com has been built by HMV for music and film collectors to come together to share their passions, interests and knowledge and build their collections using the unique 'gap analyser' functionality which identifies gaps in iTunes collections.
