New President of 24

Forget about Barack Obama there's a new lady set to take over in the White House - if only on Kiefer Sutherland's hit show 24.

Viewers will get a chance to see actress Cherry Jones sworn in as the new President on the show's two-hour special next week.

She may be playing the most powerful woman in the world, but Cherry has confessed to going weak at the knees over Kiefer.

"I'm such a fan of his I had to get over my star-struck shyness at first," she said.

Speaking in Beverly Hills, she joked Kiefer wasn't the only person she has got excited over since filming began on the series Day 7

"I have a professional crush on the steady-cam operator because he's the heartbeat of the show. I'd never seen it before I started working on it and I was blown away," she said.

Despite having a relatively easy ride in the special, the actress revealed she's bracing herself for the dangers that come with being associated with a day in the life of the special agent.

"I know Jack is lurking out there somewhere to save us so he's definitely my fail safe!" she said.
