For the past nine weeks our father Thomas Williams has been in Southmead Hospital, so sadly for us he died last Monday.

As a family, we would like to share our gratitude for the treatment he received on G ward and Avon respiratory ward at the hospital. All the time he was on these wards, he was treated with the upmost care and respect by all staff.

We spent a great deal of time at the hospital and, although the staff were busy, we were always given support, our questions were always answered, and any worries or concerns dealt with.

As it became apparent that Dad was not going to get better, we were encouraged to spend as much time as we wanted with him. The dignity and respect that Dad was shown at all times was exemplary and we were looked after so well and so kindly.

The past weeks have been the hardest our family has had to face but it was made more bearable because of all the care from the staff who looked after for our Dad.

We are so very grateful. Thank you.

The Family of Thomas Williams, address supplied.
