I want to get round and to enjoy it, says MP
AN MP is bracing himself for a challenge when he tackles the London Marathon this weekend.
Jack Lopresti, who admits he is "not really built for running", has been undergoing a gruelling training schedule since Christmas to gear up for Sunday's race.

The MP for Filton and Bradley Stoke will be raising money for Action for Children, which works with the most disadvantaged youngsters.
Mr Lopresti, who is setting his target inside five hours, said: "I want to get round, and I want to enjoy it. That's the main thing."

The Tory MP will be joining Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls and six other Parliamentarians for the race.
His training routine has involved running at 6am and over distances of up to 20 miles. He said: "I now know the A38 intimately".
Mr Lopresti is a regular competitor in the Bristol Half Marathon, but this will be the first time he steps up to the full distance.

“"Yeah, who cares about the disadvantaged children? What about filton airfield?"
What a curmudgeon...”

“Totally agree. He is meant to represent the people in his constituency.”

“We wish Mr Lopresti well for his run for this excellent cause.
It is concerning on another note, that our MP for Filton, seems absent lately on many local issues.
Issues such as an overnight increase in Merlin housing rents, Filton airfield closing, local bus services being stopped isolating elderly residents, traffic chaos and congestion in the area.
Many people feel deserted by our MP who seems to pop up at every photo opportunity, but is never to be seen when there is an important local issue such as the airfield march or public meetings.
Is the fact he seems to have left Filton in the lurch, anything to do with pending boundary changes for the next election???”
