St Peter's Hospice in Bristol are appealing to the people of Bristol to support their annual sponsored walk – 'A Walk to Remember' on Sunday October 5 at Ashton Court Estate and help celebrate 30 years of caring for the local community.

The popular walk in memory of loved ones is set in the magnificent country park chosen for its breathtaking views over the city. It is hoped that the event will raise over £30,000 for the hospice.

The route will begin at the Long Ashton Entrance to the estate, will go past the grand Mansion House, past the deer grazing in the meadow and through the woodland, an ideal location for an enjoyable family walk.

There will be live entertainment and refreshments and walkers of all ages are welcome. Registration fee is £6.00 for adults and 3.00 for children, no charge for dogs. Registration closing date is Friday September 26.

John Flanagan, Community Fundraising Manager at St. Peter's Hospice said "This is a very special event for our supporters as many of them are walking in memory of a close relative, friend or colleague. The money raised through the Walk will help the Hospice continue to provide its key services, including its work in the Bristol community where teams of specialist nurses provide advice and support in patients' home. Last year over 800 people took part and raised over £25,000 but it would be really wonderful if even more people could join us so we could raise £30,000 to celebrate 30 years of caring for local people."
