Dinsedale wrote: “Nobody should be banned from a football ground unless they are breaking the law. The board have consistently tried to prevent any criticism of the club through banning people. Its simply pathetic. Kevin has done a huge amount for this club and deserves to watch his beloved club.”

BlueFace said: “There is no way Kevin Spencer should of been banned. This particular sad episode (starring the Board!) tells us more about the insecure, egotistical spiteful nature of Messrs Higgs,Bradshaw,Dunford. They think themselves so God like they can ban a fellow Rovers supporter because he had the 'nerve' to offer ideas to improve the club. This is what we are talking about! A Gashead has been banned for having ideas to help the Rovers!”

Oldfrank wrote: “My views on the board are well known but I would support them for banning anyone who broke the law or contravened ground regulations or even brought shame on the club in some way. But as far as I understand it Mr Spencer has done none of these things and has merely criticised the board in a polite and constructive way.”

“Anyone who listened to Nick Higgs interview on Radio Bristol today will understand we are having a re-run of the Stuart Campbell affair from last year. Once again Mr Higgs has taken a dislike to someone and is smearing them in the media without providing any evidence of what they are supposed to have done wrong.

No one doubts he was a very good manager of a building company or that he has loaned Rovers an awful lot of money. But as each day goes by he is proving to be a very bad Chairman of a football club.”

“Well I think it is fair to say that this latest fiasco comes as no surprise to gasheads. This decision is yet another poor knee-jerk reaction, which is symptomatic of the mess we find ourselves in as a club, both on and off the pitch.

If things were going well, then yes, perhaps Kevin would have been better advised to keep his mouth shut, but frankly our club is in a desperate state right now and it is only through sheer desperation, and love of Bristol Rovers, would anybody want to offer criticism of the direction this board is steering the football club.

MR HIGGS, I HAVE SAID THIS ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS BUT IT APPEARS TO FALL ON DEAF EARS. WHEN WILL YOU NAME A STAND AFTER THE GREAT GEOFF BRADFORD ? AT THE MOMENT WE HAVE HIT ROCK BOTTOM AS A CLUB, SO LET US START TO RESTORE SOME MUCH NEEDED PRIDE AGAIN BY RECOGNISING ONE OF THE BEST PLAYERS TO EVER WEAR THE BLUE AND WHITE QUARTERS.

NAME A STAND AFTER BRADFORD, HIGGS. IT IS HARDLY ROCKET-SCIENCE.”

“I don't think Mr Spencer should be banned if all he has done is criticise the board because we all do that and there is no law against it. I can't understand why Mr Higgs hasn't come in the paper to explain what is happening because he is always in the paper when Rovers sign anyone and he always tells us how fantastic it is.”

“It is very sad that there are now arguments between fans about this stupid action by the board. A ban for LIFE when fans shouting racist, homophobic and vile personal abuse at ex players get away with a tap on the hands. Their total failure to communicate internally and externally is affecting the management and team, crowds are falling and we are getting more and more in debt. This ban is just the icing on the cake and totally pathetic, personal, vindictive and unnecessary.
And yes guys I remember the days of the old Tote End and Roger bennett as well !”

“This issue has to be a personal one and is vindictive on the part of the Rovers board. The reason i say this is because I've ****ged of Rovers on many occasions. The board, manager, team and supporters yet I've not been banned for the mem.”

“Certain people will try to hush this all up at the SC meeting tonight but I can assure you that there will be huge support for Kevin Spencer and finding out the real truth as to why our 2 fans directors, who after all should represent the views of the SC, voted for a ban considering Mr Spencer has broken no known club rules which dictate his behaviour warrants a lifelong banning order from BRFC home games.”

“Hi Kingsmead and Old Frank !

Amazing ! Yes I remember Gordon Bennett though I never met him. But he was quite a character and a very active member of the Supporters Club ? Incredible how memories can be stirred after such along time.

    Let us keep hoping...
