FOUR vans were deliberately destroyed by fire in the yard of a vehicle centre on Portway, Avonmouth.

Two fire appliances and a rescue tender from Avonmouth fire station attended the blaze at 11.25pm last night.

Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used three high pressure hose reels to extinguish the fire, and were at the scene for 20 minutes.

A winch on the rescue tender was also used to move the vans around to help put out the fire.
