Full-time: Brentford 1 Bristol Rovers 3
Brentford 1 Bristol Rovers 3: On-loan striker Chris Dickson made a dream start to his time at Bristol Rovers after grabbing two debut goals at Griffin Park to help Paul Trollope's side chalk up a third successive league victory.
Trollope had made one change to the side that secured a late win against Oldham at the Memorial Stadium last weekend by handing Dickson, who was signed on loan from Charlton on Thursday, a debut in place of Darryl Duffy.

Full-time report from Bristol Rovers
In just over ten minutes the frontman was celebrating a debut goal after latching on to a high and hopeful pass over the top by Jo Kuffour - despite looking second-best in the chase for the ball. Dickson, however, displayed impressive pace and power to shrug off central defender Alan Bennett and fire in the simplest of finishes from close-range to put Trollope's side ahead.
Dickson secured the brace and doubled Rovers advantage in the 27th minute with a classy finish after chasing down another long ball. This one was pumped over the top by defender Carl Regan and Dickson was quicker off the mark as a footrace ensued with goalkeeper Lewis Price. Dickson got there first and proceeded to produce a delicate lob over the helpless goalkeeper's head before wheeling away to celebrate for a second time.
The striker then played a inch-perfect pass to set Aaron Lescott in behind to finish off an impressive passing move to score the third just four minutes before the break to spark jubilant scenes from the travelling contingent packed behind Mikkel Andersen's goal.
The shine was taken off Dickson's afternoon when he hobbled out of the action with what looked like an ankle injury just after the hour mark - Trollope will hope the damage is none too serious after watching his newest signing make an immediate impact.
Rovers never quite hit the heights of the opening period after the break - and soon settled on a decision to play it safe and sit on what they had. Brentford, to their credit, were better in the second-half - not that they could have been much worse. Trotting out with a point to prove on the back of what can only have been an unhappy dressing room; circumstance could have swung in their favour if Andersen was dismissed for felling striker Kabba when he was through on goal soon after the restart.
Instead the on-loan goalkeeper received a yellow card and the free-kick from the edge of the penalty area was wasted - but a far classier strike by MacDonald from just short of 30 yards offered the Bees a glimmer of hope on 58 minutes.
Brentford almost reduced arrears further in the 71st minute - but Andersen made an impressive save to deny substitute Sam Saunders from close-range after the wideman had broke through the Pirates rearguard. Once Trollope brought on midfielder Dominic Blizzard in place of Kuffour with 15 minutes remaining it was clear that the Pirates were intent on closing up shop to end what had been a very satisfactory afternoon's work.
Bristol Rovers (4-4-2): Andersen; Regan, Coles, Anthony, Lescott; Wright, Lines, Campbell, Hughes; Dickson (Williams 64), Kuffour (Blizzard 75). Subs: Evans, Elliott, Duffy, Reece, Swallow.
Brentford (4-4-2): Price; Wilson, Phillips, Bennett, Wood; Taylor, Hunt (Bean 44), O'Connor, Weston (Saunders 44); Kabba, McDonald. Subs: Bull, Foster, Osborne, Ferrell, Blake.

“Whats the difference between a long hopefull punt up the field and a long astute pass.Bristol Rovers and Bristol City in the same order order. It's about time you City fans saw things as they are.Every goal you have scored this season has been from a long hopefull punt up the field and until yesterday you have only one player who can score goals. Our fullback is a more prolific scorer than most of your strikers.Look on with envy and watch your back, were coming too get you.”

“If you do actually achieve your "goal" of winning promotion to the Championship just stop and ask yourself, will the board invest money in new players, most people will arrive at the only sane answer, NO”
