He thinks he can never be wrong
I APPRECIATE people will have very different views regarding same sex formal marriage in church. But personally I'm indifferent, feeling like many that in these difficult times the government should have more urgent matters to consider. Such as increasing fuel poverty for people on low incomes or why we permit foreign powers to dictate UK laws we don't want or have any say in their creation.
But what I found incredible about the gay marriage furore is the dismissive and outrageous disregard the Tory leadership has shown to gay marriage dissenters within its own party organisation, to include many Conservative MPs and senior party workers, to the point of apparently having an unsettling effect locally, with one Tory councillor signing off as "a (proper) conservative" in letters to The Post.
Recently, one of David Cameron's own MPs said the Prime Minister came from a background of toffs, being out of touch with the realities of the day to day struggles millions face, in a world he and many of his cohorts have never experienced, some holding public office as West MPs. Mr Cameron comes from an elitist mindset of people who are so convinced of their importance to the world, that they can never be wrong. Cameron's stance on the UK's continuing membership of the EU, or indeed his insistence on a new law for gay church weddings – mummy knows best.
On judgement calls, Mr Cameron is no Margaret Thatcher, as demonstrated by Jonathan Ross a few days ago on his former Friday night show, where Ross made Cameron look a complete fool in a set up Mrs T would have seen coming from ten miles away.

As a 70-year-old I can see the political numbers game which has kept the toffs and the like in power for most of the past 60 years coming to an end.
