“I must admit when I got to the WI fete on Alma Road I was put off by the £3 entrance fee. I went to my local church jumble instead followed by a local school fete.”

“Or you could watch wonder horse Black Caviar run at Ascot on Saturday. All suggestions not really pushing my buttons though the WI Garden Party is a bit of a temptation. Suspect outdoor events will be very wet so don't forget the wellies and waterproofs.”
