MANAGER Shane Smith knows that his in-form Ashton & Backwell side will face an uphill struggle in their bid to land the title if they lose at runaway leaders Berrow tomorrow.

Smith's second-placed side extended their unbeaten run to 11 games following a 2-2 draw with Bishops Lydeard last weekend – but still remain ten points behind Berrow ahead of the trip to Red Road.

"We're certainly going there to try to win the game," said Smith. "Usually you'd be happy to take a point from a game away at the leaders, but we are at a critical stage of the season.

"Berrow are ten points clear and to let them edge ahead by another three would leave us with a big mountain to climb, even though we have two games in hand.

"It's a massive game for us, but we go there with plenty of confidence on the back of a long unbeaten run."

Smith is boosted by the return of Conor Biggins and John Davies to an otherwise unchanged squad.

In-form Shirehampton are without midfield general Jack Barnes and striker Rob Sage for tomorrow's clash against Ilminster Town.

Shirehampton are making a late play to be involved in the title shake-up and last weekend took a point against leaders Berrow.

Shirehampton boss Pete McCall said: "We played really well in the first-half, but failed to capitalise on that by not scoring more than one goal. The boys played well and probably deserved more than a point."

Stockwood Green will be looking to bounce back from a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Watchet Town when they go to Langford Rovers.

Clevedon United have a tricky-looking assignment at Watchet Town. Mark Savage's Nailsea United make the trip to struggling Weston St Johns, while third-placed Cutters Friday will look to kick-start their title-ambitions when they host Nailsea Town.
