Please support worthy cause
AS Poppy Day approaches once more, I would like to ask all the people of Bristol to support this year's appeal as generously as possible.
It is more than 60 years since the end of the Second World War, but British servicemen and women are still involved in areas of conflict throughout the world.

Lord Mayor Peter Main is asking Bristolians to support the Royal British Legion's poppy appeal
The demands on the Royal British Legion continue to increase. The Legion does a wonderful job, providing employment, residential accommodation and convalescent care for the thousands of disabled servicemen and women.
Through the column of your newspaper, may I ask every Bristolian to give wholehearted support to this year's Poppy Day and the house-to-house collections. As ever, there is always a need for more collectors and any offers of help would, I know, be much appreciated. The address of the Royal British Legion in Bristol is Butler House, 31 St Paul's Road, Clifton, Bristol BS8 1LX
