Five-star Lebeq leave Stapleton shattered
Just eight games were played across three leagues after torrential rain decimated the Sunday fixture list.
Only one fixture went ahead in the Regional Sunday League Premier Division, Lebeq beating Stapleton Sunday 5-1 with goals from Anthony Whillier, Jacob Cox, Darren Brown, Howard Jelly and Errol Dean.
BAWA Athletico closed the gap on leaders Real Bristol at the top of Division I with a 5-1 home victory over Quayside. Ryan Glennon led the way with four goals and was joined on the scoresheet by Dan Lewis.
Breakaways were also convincing home winners, beating The Castle 5-0 thanks to goals from Darrell Towler (4) and David Pike.
Jason Edwards scored a consolation goal for BAWA Athletico Reserves in their 4-1 home drubbing by AFC Brecon in Division IV.
There were no games at all played in the top two divisions of the Bristol and District Sunday League. Goals from Neil Smith (2) and Mark Drake, however, helped Brislington 1987 to a 3-2 victory over Lockstock United in Division II.
Marcliff shared the spoils with Signal Generals in an exciting 4-4 draw thanks to goals from Tom Watts (2), Paul Haslam and Ben Lotty.
Shire Sunday spurned an opportunity to go level on points with Division III leaders Midland Spinner. Goals from Dan Griffiths (2), Dean Cooper and Keiron Greening could not save them from a surprise 7-4 defeat – their first of the season – at home to struggling Oracle.
Cutters Friday continued their impressive start to the campaign in the Bristol & Wessex Sunday League, goals from Gavin Cabbie, Jamie Churches, Lee Dixon Ryan Jones and Scott Saunders sealing a 5-1 win against Castle Court United. The victory maintained Cutters' 100 per cent record and moved them level on points with Senior Division leaders Post Office Sports. Louis Thomas scored for Castle Court.
