Weale's priority is Bristol, not Beijing
The former Yeovil Town player's twin brother, Sam, competes in the five disciplines of the modern pentathlon in Beijing from 1.30am tomorrow.
Chris will train with City as usual when Sam is due to take part in the horse riding discipline.
Chris said: "I will set my alarm at 7.30am because it wouldn't be ideal preparation for Saturday to get up at 1.30am! I will watch a bit on television and go training and hopefully watch it again at lunchtime at the training ground."
Chris has recently taken over between the sticks after Adriano Basso suffered a thigh injury in the first half of the opening-day win at Blackpool.
But Weale could have been a multi-event star like his brother had he been better with a rifle.
"I didn't get as far as the riding," he explained.
"Most people start with the riding but Sam and I started with running and swimming. Then it was shooting and fencing and, last of all, he did the riding.
"I got as far as the shooting and realised I wasn't very good at it so I quit there.
"We both went to the school of excellence at Yeovil Town and he was a very good left-back, but he decided to go his route."
Meanwhile, City's game at Coventry on Saturday will be Weale's third start in a row – his best run so far at Ashton Gate.
"Adriano obviously had a very good season last season but I had a good pre-season," said Weale.
"I came on in the first half of the first game of the season and I have been playing since.
"Being a back-up keeper is strange. I was first choice at my previous club (Yeovil) and I signed for Bristol City when I was injured. I haven't been able to get Adriano out of the side, but hopefully this is my chance."
City are unbeaten this season and Weale insists the Robins are not suffering from the dreaded 'second season' syndrome.
"There has been no hangover," said Weale. "The manager made sure of that."
