Bristol City boss Johnson pays tribute to the Cup heroes
Not so long ago, the Ashton Gate chief was a non-league manager himself, first with Newmarket Town, then Kettering and also Yeovil Town, before he brought the Glovers into the Football League in 2003.
Johnson said: "It's a magnificent achievement for Paulton Rovers to reach the first round proper of the FA Cup and they've been rewarded with a great tie.
"Norwich are one of the biggest teams in the hat at that stage of the competition and they've been handed a home tie too.
"They will need to treat it like a cup final, and if the money is there they should be decked out in suits with flowers.
"However, there's still a game to be won. Norwich certainly won't relish going to Paulton's ground and they'll be keen to get in and out as soon as possible. That's in Paulton's favour."
Johnson was assistant manager to John Beck at Cambridge United when they made the Abbey Stadium a particularly unpleasant place to visit.
Tales of dirty dressing rooms, flat practice balls and freezing cold showers abound from those days in the early 1990s.
"Don't leave the pitch having watched Norwich control the game for 90 minutes –they have to make it uncomfortable for them on the pitch," said Johnson.
"No one is expecting a Paulton Rovers victory and the important thing is to go out there and enjoy it.
"Good luck to everyone at Paulton – and we'll see you in round three!"
