Mencap is holding an outdoor exhibition celebrating people with learning disabilities, at Cabot Circus, starting on Monday.

This is Me will showcase a selection of winning photographs and stories from Mencap's annual Snap! competition.

Every picture in the exhibition has been taken by or features someone with a learning disability, demonstrating their talent.

Since its launch in 2003, Mencap's Snap! competition has attracted high profile judges, including photographers David Bailey and Rankin.

Mencap spokesman Lloyd Page said: "There are more than 1.5 million people with a learning disability in this country.

"This is Me is a great way of showing others that although we face huge challenges, the hopes and dreams of people with a learning disability are just like anyone else's."

Rankin, a portrait and fashion photographer and judge of the Snap! competition, said: "These photographs encapsulate the ongoing fight by people with a learning disability for social inclusion and independence.."

This is Me is supported by The Sorrell Foundation and Land Securities. The free exhibition runs until August 24.
