Some sound advice from Dean
SOUND therapy cured ME sufferer Dean Carter who afterwards decided he must share the healing with others.
Musician and teacher Dean, of Sherborne, Dorset, said: "I was on my last legs, and I eventually got a diagnosis of chronic fatigue syndrome, ME.
"It looked as if my life was over pretty much. I was confined to bed, a darkened room, and was housebound."
But, as a musician, Dean was interested in the idea of sound as a healing modality – generated by Tibetan and crystal bowls – and it became his salvation. "I was a very cynical person," he said. "Anything on a spiritual path seemed an utter nonsense to me. But I was like Saul turned into Paul. The sound has done that over the years. It's my mission in life now to help other people to benefit."
Dean has a series of upcoming events, on Sunday at Sherborne and at Weymouth and Frome in September, where people can experience the unique therapy for themselves.
"It's de-stressing, anti-ageing, deeply therapeutic and relaxing," he added.
