I AM writing to you after just reading the article regarding Mr John Morris who was refused a hernia operation on the NHS.

My son is in the same position. He has a hernia and after seeing the consultant at Frenchay Hospital was advised that he should have an operation.

Unfortunately, because he does not meet the criteria he is now unable to receive this op.

He is a 31-year-old man whose job is working for the local community.

He is now finding this difficult because of the discomfort of the hernia.

What an age we live in. I, as his mum, have written to various authorities but, of course, only to be told that cuts have to be made in the NHS somewhere.

I would love to tell these people in authority where to make the cuts!

Mrs Christine Bees
