As if we haven't had enough, more snow is predicted to fall on Monday night in the Bristol area, according to forecasters.

Drivers and commuters could face more disruption on the roads and rail network tomorrow morning with up to 5cm expected in low lying areas and around 10cm on higher ground.

Strong fresh north westerly winds over the next two days may cause drifting snow as well.

Stephen Holman, spokesman for the Met Office, said: "At about 8pm tonight a drop in the temperature could see rain and sleet showers turning to snow.

"There is an area of low pressure pushing into the South West, but how badly Bristol is hit will depend on how far north it pushes.

"The morning may have a bright start but high-level cloud will gradually thicken and lower.

"Outbreaks of rain and sleet will arrive during the afternoon. It is likely that as that rain and sleet turns gradually heavier, and the temperature falls, it will turn to snow.

"The good news is that by the end of the week this weather front should move away to the east."

High winds of 30mph in low lying areas and gale force on high ground will also cause extra problems and warnings of power cables being hit.

Temperatures in Bristol on Friday and Saturday night fell below freezing, causing melted snow from last week's showers to ice over.

“As of 2200, all First buses have suspended. For the hundreds of people that catch the bus, this will be the situation most likely.......All services will be suspended until daylight....Only then will the roads be assesed. If the radio tells you that some services are running, this means catch it from the nearest main road because it won't go soen the side streets.......Don't listen to radio bristol because they always get it wrong....star are most accurate followed by GWR....”
