Wednesday, September 23, 2009, 08:00

Bristol snooker player Andrew Norman has failed to qualify for next month's Grand Prix in Glasgow.

The Nailsea professional beat Lancastrian Chris Norbury on Monday in the first round of qualifying for the second ranking tournament of the new season.

But yesterday the world No 75 was beaten 5-2 by Walsall professional Mark Joyce at the Pontin's Holiday Park in Prestatyn, North Wales.

And, with defeat, the part-time delivery driver missed out, with Dubliner Michael Judge, on the penultimate round of qualifying today.

Keynsham's Judd Trump has to win one qualifying match tomorrow to guarantee his participation in next month's nine-day event at the Kelvin Hall.

The 20-year-old does not yet know who is opponent will be.
