The world No 30 impressed with a 4-2 victory over Hong Kong's Marco Fu at the Charter Hall in Colchester to make it two wins from his first three matches.
Trump has also won more money than any other player in this year's competition, having scooped £14,000 in his first three matches.
Another win on the board with three matches to play has put the Bristol professional in a good position to qualify for this year's finals' weekend, with only the top four of seven players able to qualify.
"Marco struggled a little bit and I got a good start, which helped," said Trump.
"It was a big frame to go 2-1 up, to win 4-2 is a good result for me.
"It's nice to be playing on TV pretty much every week now, it's good experience for me.
