Downs League round-up: Injury-hit Sneyd Park battled to a 2-1 win against Lawes Juniors to stay top of Division I.

Liam Bailey headed them in front from a Tristan Scott cross but they suffered a blow when losing goalkeeper Rob Perrott with a shoulder injury.

Substitute Rob Davey made it 2-0 but Olly Bendall reduced the deficit for Lawes and Sneyd had to defend most of the second half against a strong wind to hang on to the three points.

Second-placed Bristol Barcelona made hard work of beating Portland Old Boys 5-3. Phil Lackie grabbed a hat-trick for Portland but two goals from Dan Cannon and strikes by Andy Bush, John Sheppard and Matt Roberts kept them level on points with Sneyd Park at the top of the table.

Alan Crook netted for Barcelona Reserves, beaten 2-1 by Ashley Reserves in the only Division II game played.

Division III leaders Clifton Rockets Reserves were held 3-3 at St Vincents A. Dan Edwards, John Courthier and Jermain Hughes netted for Rockets.

Torpedo A's Graham Williams scored for both teams – twice at the right end and an own goal – in their 5-1 victory over Portland Old Boys Reserves.

Sporting Greyhound Reserves keeper Mike Francom netted with a long clearance in the 2-2 draw with Stoke Bishop. Dan Kanaris got their other goal, with Harvey Thompson and Ashley Giles replying.

Ben Goodier hit the only goal of the game for Retainers Reserves against Sneyd Park A, while DDAS beat LA Cricketers 3-1 thanks to Dan Bennett, Manny Bhalero (penalty) and Mike Brown.

Louis Hann (2), Ryan Morgan and Brett Short shot Luccombe Garage to a 4-2 win over Beachcroft, who led 2-1 with only 10 minutes left.

Wellington Wanderers moved up to second in Division IV after beating Sneyd Park B 4-2 with goals by Dan Slavin, Gino Soave, Martin Robertson and John Ross.
