Hart strikes twice as Cabot AF ease their relegation worries

BRISTOL DOWNS LEAGUE: Cabot AF eased their relegation worries in Division I by beating Portland OB 3-1, their second win of the season.

Goals from Rich Hart (2) and Dave Southwood clinched three much-needed points, while Phil Lackie netted his 200th goal for Portland.

Ashley kept in touch with the leaders by beating Cotswool 2-1 thanks to Loren Currey and a Dan Scoins penalty. Ed Troughton scored for Cotswool.

AFC Bohemia continued their improvement, goals from Dave Gamble, Dave Green and Pete Davey sealing a 3-0 victory over Easton Cowboys.

Nick Lloyd's strike gave Saints Old Boys a 1-0 win against Sporting Greyhound, while regular scorer Dan Jones was on target again by netting a 65th-minute winner for Torpedo against lowly Jamaica Bell.

Andy Turner, Jason Ford, Chris Hawkins and Dale French were all on target for Division II pacesetters Retainers, who crushed Ashley Reserves 4-0.

Lion FC eased to a 3-0 win against Easton Cowboys Reserves thanks to goals from Mark Cornish, Nick Milsom and Luke Brimble.

Nick Hards hit a hat-trick to lead Sneyd Park Reserves to a 7-4 victory over Cotswool Reserves. Ben Bishop (2), Stuart Latham and Paul Chesman were also on the scoresheet for Sneyd, with Richard Crowder and Chris Lynch both netting twice for Cotswool.

Two Jamie Hilyer penalties saw Tebby AFC beat Clifton Rockets 2-0, while Torpedo Reserves defeated Bristol Barcelona Reserves 2-1 with Pete Clare and Felix Lawrence scoring for Torps and Ed Lett replying for Barca.

In Division III, a Shaina Oulabi goal earned Torpedo A a 1-1 draw with Beachcroft.

Portland OB Reserves beat LA Cricketers 3-1 thanks to Mark Hallworth (2) and John Parrett, while Andy McManus (2), Phil Woodland, Rich Nicholls and Jason Joyce shot Retainers Reserves to a 5-1 success against Clifton Rockets Reserves.

In Division IV, NCSF United and Hydez FC shared four goals, Tom Carter and Dave Brady scoring for United and Billy Fortune and Dave Blake on the mark for Hydez.
