Hampton and Richmond manager Alan Devonshire summed up his frustration after watching his side struggle to score against a lacklustre Bath City.

"This was the most one sided game I have seen in a long time," said Devonshire.

"We hit the bar on four occasions and then their keeper has pulled off save after save after save. I just thought it was never going to happen."

Borough, the form side in Blue Square South with seven wins in a row and undefeated since early November, never gave Bath a chance to settle.

With the match only three minutes old the visitors had already spurned two good chances with first Lawrence Yaku and midfielder Stuart Lake missing chances.

Bath had come into the match playing five in a midfield in an attempt to combat Hampton's known physical presence. It was a tactic that had little impact as the Surrey team swept Bath to one side.

Minutes after the interval Borough's Ian Hodges headed narrowly over .

City survived until thirteen minutes from the end a Harper cross struck Jim Rollo's upraised arm and the referee awarded a penalty. Even though Perrin saved the spot kick, he was unable to prevent Quarm scoring from the rebound.

City boss Adie Britton said: "They were quick, they were sharp in the last third of the field, and they caused us problems all afternoon. We have to ask ourselves did we perform poorly or were they simply better than us. I think it was probably a bit of both."
