Bristol Cubs do their best with charity pledge

Wednesday, September 23, 2009, 07:00

The Cubs at the 126 Sea Mills Scout group have handed over a cheque for £300 to a local children's charity.

The money was raised by holding fundraising events including a 'back to front uniform night', a 'no uniform night', a cake sale and a sponsored walk.

The youngsters have chosen to give the money to Children's Hospice South West.

Group leader Barrie Havens said: "The Cubs have been fundraising since April last year and we're really pleased to have raised this money. Hopefully it will make a difference to the hospice."
