The science behind the speed
A NEW hardback book has been released detailing the Bristol-based project to create a 1,000mph car – the Bloodhound.
Written by Bloodhound team member David Tremayne, it celebrates the supersonic project's transition from virtual to physical – coming out at a time when the first parts of the car's chassis are starting to take shape.

The team hope to take the car to South Africa later this year to challenge the current landspeed record of 763mph, and plan to return in 2014 to attempt to break 1,000mph.
The Science Behind The Speed is out now, published by Butler, Tanner and Dennis, priced £30. For more details, visit www.bloodhoundssc.com
