Sign up for Portishead swimathon
The event, now in its 13th year, is organised by the Rotary Club of Portishead to raise thousands of pounds for good causes locally.
The swimathon will take place at Parish Wharf Leisure Centre on March 28, starting at 3.30pm and will be opened by BBC Points West weather girl and Portishead carnival joint organiser, Jemma Cooper.
More than 30 teams, from schools, businesses and charitable groups have entered the dash across the pool so far.
Rotary club spokesman Miles Williams said: "Last year we had 50 teams take part and we are hoping to increase that number."
Last year the event raised £11,000, split among local charities and good causes.
This year, money raised from the swimathon will go to support Children with Leukaemia and Bristol Research into Alzheimer's and Care of the Elderly (BRACE).
Some of the money will also go to support projects at local schools and to organisations and charities in the town.
Mr Williams added: "It's a great fun event which is full of laughter and at the same time raises funds to support some very important charities.
"We are still looking for more teams and anyone interested should get in touch with the club."
Teams of up to six people can enter the event and need to be able to swim in relay for 35 minutes.
