I received an extraordinary letter this week. It was a desperate cry from the heart from a Somerset married couple who believe they are being targeted by a malevolent witch who has sent a poltergeist to terrorise them.

The unfortunate couple do not want me to reveal their identity, as they fear the effects of publicity. We'll call them Mr and Mrs Jenkinson.

They live in a quiet close in a pleasant part of Taunton but, following an argument with a relative, they say they have been plagued by poltergeist phenomena including strange lights, noises and apparitions, and they have been suffering great distress.

So much so that they called in a spirit medium who advised various protective measures, such as the placing of crystals, the burning of incense, and the saying of prayers. But all of this was to no avail.

A second medium was consulted who told the Jenkinsons their relative was a powerful witch who was actually controlling the poltergeist, a "directed dark entity", and the couple could do nothing about it.

By now, the Jenkinsons were at their wits' end, and they asked a minister of the Church to perform an exorcism – but this had no effect on the poltergeist either.

The Jenkinsons consulted a solicitor, and were told no action could be taken because there was no concrete evidence to support their claims.

They want me to tell their story in the hope that there is someone among my readers who can help rid them of the poltergeist which is disrupting their lives so severely, and damaging their health.
