Call to reopen rail station reaches Parliament
MORE than 2,000 people have called for the reopening of Saltford Railway Station.
A petition, signed by residents has been handed in to the House of Commons by MP, Jacob Rees-Mogg.
Duncan Hounsell, of Saltford Station Campaign, said: "Jacob Rees-Mogg MP has given the campaign whole-hearted support from the outset. Handing in our petition to the House of Commons gives our campaign another boost." The campaigners travelled to Westminster from Keynsham Station with the petition and they hope in the future the journey to the capital will be possible from Saltford.
The station campaign has gained momentum with growing support from organisations including Bath & North East Somerset Council, Bath Spa University and the West of England Partnership.
