What our readers think of manager Gary Johnson's departure from Bristol City
I would go for Sean O'Driscoll because he plays the right brand of football and he can attract youngsters from London Premiership clubs.

Gary Johnson - Now looking for new employment
I'm not surprised. I thought he may go at the end of the season.
The fans won't renew their season tickets – certainly not with what they have been watching this season.
Steve Lansdown is a businessman and he's looking from that point of view.
Alan Curbishley has been out of football for a while but he has settled his dispute with West Ham.
I don't want Phil Brown and I am glad that Iain Dowie has got the Hull job.

I was happy to be mid-table and wait for the new stadium but we are losing too many games to teams who we shouldn't lose to.
Steve Coppell is the sort of guy we need. His Reading side was probably the best side to go up from the Championship in recent years.

“Agree with Peter Collett. Also McIndoe - where have we a left side player as good as him?”

“Bristol City looking like they will be relegated to division 2 - Brian Tinnion replaced by Gary Johnston.
Year 1 Saves us from relegation
Year 2 Wins us promotion to Championship
Year 3 Wins play off final place, one game away from Premiership
Year 4 Finish 10th in Championship
Year 5 Defacto fired "by consent"
One of the most successful managers sacked because of a appalling season where everything that could go wrong has.
Any manager wanting to come to a club as fickle as Britsol City must be mad.”

“Ipswich fan in peace.
Gary Johnson was and still is a good manager.
A lot of you thought Pulis wasn't up to much but look where he is now - the Premiership.
You are NOT going to get relegated this season.
There are 3 clubs - Scunthorpe, Plymouth and Peterborough that just won't catch City even if you dive-bomb down the league.
Time for true supporters to get behind your club and trust the chairman.”

“I think it's a sad day for Bristol City _I like continuity and its a shame that Gary Johnson has decided to go - but unfortunately he has made a lot of mistakes. Firstly he should not have sold Carle to Crystal Palace nor let Adebola go to Forest - and he should have tried harder to persuade Basso to play, (Gerkan is not as good) - and another sore point with a lot of fans was playing his son Lee, nice lad, but not a Championship player. Many thanks for getting us into the Championship and I wish you well in your next management post.”

“Thanks Gary but goodbye. The season we were promoted & our first season in the Championship we won games but often did not play well. We won because of hard work & effort, rarely with style & skill. The games we have won this season is down lots of effort. Perhaps we will now see a bit more football and even the young players. I am a season holder & do not have a clue how good they are!”

“Thank you Gary, you have given us supporters a good run over the past four years.
Just like cars you need to change them eventually and hopefully upgrade.
I believe we have all learnt a lot from GJ especially sorting out the dressing room culture.GJ will be snapped up very quickly by another club and City need to upgrade to an experienced team quickly. It will be necessary to pay the going rate for new personnell not try to do it on the cheap.”
