They will raise cash and recall memories
TWO cyclists both with a desire to help those less fortunate and both facing immensely gruelling rides. Mark Stinchcombe is planning to cycle from John O'Groats to Lands End and Chris Bloomfield intends to pedal his way across America along the famous Route 66.
Both have reasons for tackling these extraordinary rides for they are doing so in memory of people they have lost.
Chris will pedal for 66 days consecutively in memory of his grandad and Mark will ride the length of the country in memory of his sister.
With every mile they ride they will be raising money for charities dealing with Alzheimer's disease and cancer.

In doing so they will help to maintain our awareness of these awful conditions and help people with them.
They could of course have simply written a cheque and sent it off the their chosen charities.
But in each case they decided to do something that will test them to their limits.
They are also taking on challenges that will leave them on their own for long periods.
Time perhaps for them to reflect on the good times they enjoyed with those they have lost and helping to keep their memories alive.
