    Nice lunch

“Had a very nice lunch at the Lock Keeper pub today. The menu had a good choice of hot and cold food, as well as sandwiches and toasted ciabattas. The handful of chips the menu says goes with the ciabattas is actually a very generous portion and was very tasty. The portions are enough to be filling without being overwhelming.

Diners are offered the choice of sitting in either the main pub, the conservatory or outside, which means you can enjoy yourself whatever the weather is doing!”

The place to be on a sunny afternoon

“Peaceful, friendly and a great pint of cider in the sun, you cannot fault the Lock Keeper on this. Not a fan of the food, too expensive for what it is but really enjopy sitting by the river in the sunshine on a sunny afternoon. Can't help going back again and again! ”

Not as good as it used to be

“I've always liked the Lock Keeper, because of it's location by the river and a nice walking path, and because it did a good Sunday roast. It's quite a long time since I was last there, and so I took a friend today for Sunday lunch and a walk.

I'm not sure if they were struggling to staff the kitchen, but the lunch was only adequate - really quite disappointing, and not what it has been in the past - overcooked and not very flavoursome meat, over-cooked and rather watery vegetables, and the roast potatoes were kind of leathery.

I feel like a good pub roast should be at least as good as you'd make at home, and this was nowhere near. I'll be looking for a new Sunday lunch place.”

    Great Atmosphere

“I love coming here on Sunday evenings. The pub has a great atmosphere. It is warm and welcoming and the staff are lovely. It also has outside heaters so perfect for alfresco drinking.”

    Fantastic Pub by the River

“The Lock Keeper on Keynsham road is a really pretty riverside pub with a large garden area and conservatory. Their ales are superb and the food on offer is of a great standard and reasonably priced. All in all its a lovely place to have a pint or two. ”

Good place to come with the family

“A very nice place to come with the family for an outdoor meal in the beer garden. The food is nice and weve never had any problems with it and come here quite often. The location is very nice with some lovely views, and they have some good beers too.”

    Lovely setting

“Lovely setting not far from the Keynsham train station and easy walking distance from the high street. Large conservatory and garden area with plenty of seating. Very popular in the summer and winter - especially with special offers such as two main courses with a bottle of wine for only £20. ”

A great pub during the summertime with loads of tables..

“A great pub during the summertime with loads of tables in a huge garden next to the river, although views of the river from the pub are dissapointing.
There are a few French Boules courts next to the car park.
Food is good, if not a little expensive. Also, during the busier days expect to have to make two, maybe even three choices of food as they often run out!
During the winter it transforms into a nice cosy country pub.”
