The primitive profit principle

The Bristol Post

I SPY with my little eye all sorts of words beginning with P!

So the plebs have fallen prey to the powerful plutocrats again. This time it's the peasants at Hanham, not the pc plods at Parliament. Tesco has had its way as usual. Thursday's planning committee meeting at Kingswood was a preposterous pretence. Is this statement parody, pique, paranoia and poppycock? Or were the professionals really in the plutocrats' pockets? The planners' case could have been Tesco talking. A pretty pickle of propaganda and so-called proof swallowed whole – with only two councillors spitting it out – by a planning committee persuaded by one or two pious, pretentious, puffed up members from outside Hanham, parroting platitudes without proper positive proof.

I can only hope this will be a pyrrhic victory, and that people will soon perceive that the primitive profit principle can be pernicious.
