premier league clash at the south centre!
Tonight's GOTD came courtesy of the Tuesday night premier league game between Randall FC and Jotake. The Randall team in which were only 3 weeks old to the centre had already caused quite a storm in the league, with 2 wins out of 2 in their first games at the centre they had made their name known amongst the other teams. Could they continue this rich fortune against the strong jotake side?
The game started fairly bright, both teams looked evenly matched neither team could really get the better of their opponent. The game was like this throughout the first half; however the jotake team were the first to take the lead, when the player took a quick free kick, only for it to be deflected through the crowd of Randall players blocking it, and fly into the corner of the goal. There lead was short lived though as the Randall side responded with first a great turn to lose his marker, before a fantastic strike from the half way flew past the keeper and into the goal. Despite their goal the Randall side were caught sleeping from the kick off, in which the Jotake side took full advantage of, playing 2 quick passes before one of their lads going through on goal and scoring with a good finish.
The Randall side did respond to going a goal down before half time, when they managed to win a free kick outside the area, they were able to take it quickly, before teeing up there team mate with a long distance strike in which he finished into the corner of the goal. The Randall side then went a goal up, when some great passing football resulted in a good 1-2 by 2 of their players, before that player then finished them move off with a cool finish in a 1 on 1 situation. It wasn't long though until the scores were back level, with the jotake side scoring with a clean toe punt under pressure from a defending Randall player. Luckily for the Randall team they did have enough time on their hands to grab the lead, when the goal keeper gifted them a goal from a poor throw straight to the Randall fc striker. Then just before half time a quick free kick for the Jotake side was passed straight to a free Randall player who scored once again in a 1 on 1 situation. Half time score 5-3.
The second half kicked off with the Randall team scoring 2 very early goals, the first coming from a very cool finish with a calm pass into the goal from a fair distance. However the jotake side felt a little hard done by with the second, as the ref failed to spot a foul for their team, then allowing play on and the Randall team scoring from close range. The game then fizzed out for a long period, with both teams battling well however neither team scoring. This was until a quick free kick was taken by the Randall team, leading to a clear 1 on 1 and a good finish under no pressure. Then came the goal of the game, when the Randall player got a pull back from the half way line, only for him to smash the ball dead into the top corner of the goal with what was a Steven Gerrard styled finish.

The Jotake side did respond to conceding 4 goals in that half, firstly with a good 2vs1 opportunity in which they worked perfectly to be able to go round the player and score past the bemused and bored goalkeeper. Secondly they managed to soak up allot of pressure from the Randall team, before winning the ball back and playing through a perfect first time ball, for the free player to go on and beat the keeper with from close range. That wouldn't prove to be the final goal of the game though as with 1 minute left on the clock a long distance strike from the Randall player beat the keeper, and secured a 10-5 win for their side.
