Twyford House seal Bristol & District League title

Twyford House have secured the Bristol & District League Senior Division title and promotion back to Bristol & North Somerset after Pak Bristolians' shock defeat to strugglers Almondsbury.

House have climbed to 22.5 points following their 39-run victory over Portishead, while Pak Bristolians (19.1), who drop to third, lost by eight wickets.

Chew Magna, who beat St Mary Redcliffe by four wickets, are up to second with 20.1 points, but they cannot catch House.

Shirehampton-based House were grateful to No 9 Andy Nairn's 50 not out from 37 balls, which allowed them to post 114. Greg Walters (5-49) and John Askew (4-44) impressed with the ball for Portishead, but Mark Fowler returned better figures of 5-12 for House, with Ryan Jamieson taking 4-22 as Portishead were dismissed for 75 in 24.4 overs.

Almondsbury skipper Tom Armfield claimed four wickets to take his tally for the season past 40 as Pak Bristolians were all out for 159. Andy Parkinson (64 not out) and Liam Hartigan (45) then guided Almondsbury to 160-2.

Failand & Portbury hung on for a five-run victory against Bristol Asians and have secured their second successive year in the Senior Division.

Alastair McArthur (43) and Hugo Hanchet (33 not out) were the leading run makers in Failand's 168-9. Shoaib took 5-45. Qasir (56) held the Asians' innings together, but they fell short on 163 despite having plenty of overs to spare.

Jonathan Solly hit 52 not out as Hampset beat Cleeve by seven wickets.

In Division One, leaders Phoenix West Indians are on 20.1 points after losing by eight wickets to Bradley Stoke. Second-placed Hanham (19.4) beat Long Ashton by six wickets.

Mark Stone claimed 6-22 to restrict Ashton to 93 before opener Craig Davies (40) took his side to within touching distance of victory.

Bristol Pakistanis (19.3) remain in the hunt after a 32-run victory over Bristol YMCA.

In Division Two, Stoke Bishop have virtually sewn up the second promotion place after winning by 46 runs against Woodpeckers.

Title-winners Bitton beat Carsons/Mangotsfield by seven wickets thanks to A White (65) and Mark Lucas (54 not out).

In Division Three, first-placed Pucklechurch and second-placed Lympsham have both been promoted. The title race will go down to the wire.

Third-placed University of Bristol Staff lost by nine runs against Old Elizabethans, while fourth-placed Bristol Indians fell by 23 runs against United Banks.

In Division Four, Taveners slipped from second to fourth after losing by one wicket against Bristol CS.

Ali Akbar took 6-24 in leaders Bristol Fighting Spirit's 83-run win against Old Cathedralians.

Bohemians are now second after an eight-wicket win against Alveston.

Abhshek claimed 8-20, including a hat-trick, in Almondsbury's seven-wicket win against Pak Bristolians in the 2nd XI Senior Division.

A Parson also claimed a hat-trick in his 5-23 during Winterbourne A's win against Patchway.

R Smith's 103 was the highlight of Stoke Bishop's 198-8 against United Banks, while M Gitson cracked 123 for Hanham A against Portishead.
